If your child is starting secondary school in September 2026, Kent Test registration was open from Monday 2nd June to Tuesday 1st July 2025. The 2027 Kent Test will probably follow a similar timetable. Please check the Kent County Council website early to confirm the 2027 dates and registration deadlines.

Every August, 11 Plus Tutoring offers a summer booster program in Hildenborough for Year 5 children to help them get ready for the Kent Test in September. Grammar schools in Kent usually accept children who score in the top 25% of the ability range, but passing the Kent Test does not always guarantee a place.
Hildenborough’s TN11 postcode is in the Inner Area for two of Kent’s most popular grammar schools: The Judd School for boys and Tonbridge Grammar School for girls, both located in nearby Tonbridge. Why Families in Hildenborough Seek the 11 Plus Summer Booster Courses?
In Hildenborough, many families choose to enrol their children in an organised 11 Plus summer booster programme instead of having them study alone in August. With important exams in September, here are the main reasons local parents prefer this option:
Practice Full-Length Papers
Even if your child knows all the topics, they still need regular practice sitting full, timed Kent Test papers before September to be truly ready.
Boost Speed and Accuracy
It's not just about getting the right answers—it's about getting them quickly. Children need dedicated practice to balance speed with accuracy under pressure.
Learn Missing School Subjects
Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning are rarely taught in primary schools, meaning families must find extra, targeted help for these crucial topics.
Beat the Home Revision Slump
Studying alone at home over the summer can make it hard to stay focused. Without a clear plan and tutor feedback, revision quickly becomes less effective.
Overcome Exam-Day Nerves
Sitting full mock exams under realistic test conditions takes away the fear of the unknown, helping children feel calm and confident on the big day.
Keep a Steady August Routine
A regular weekly timetable throughout August gives your family a stress-free plan and keeps your child perfectly on track before school starts.
Families in Westgate-on-Sea can help their child prepare for the 11 Plus from home this August, with all sessions held live online. You won’t have to travel or change your summer plans.

How a Hildenborough Year 5 Student Built the Stamina to Sit Both Kent Test Papers
A Year 5 student from Hildenborough started out with strong skills in English, Maths, and Reasoning, but he often lost focus and made more mistakes in the second half of each paper. This became clearer when he took both papers one after the other in mock test conditions. To help with this, the summer booster course had him practise both papers in timed sessions. This helped him build the mental stamina and focus he needed to do well all the way through. By the fourth week, he was doing much better on the second paper and could finish both papers calmly and steadily, which he could not do at the start of August.
