2027 Entry Note

According to the established yearly pattern, Kent exam registration for the 2027 entrance is planned to start on Monday, 1 June 2026, and close on Wednesday, 1 July 2026. The exam for Kent primary school children is scheduled for September 2026, and results will be reported to families in October 2026. Families should double-check all confirmed dates on the official Kent County Council website before taking any action.

Looking for an Online 11 Plus Summer Course in Bridge?

11 Plus Tutoring provides a concentrated summer booster course for Year 5 pupils in Bridge, suited to the demands of the Kent Test ahead of the September sitting, every August. Bridge’s CT4 postcode is just south of Canterbury city centre, putting families close to Barton Court Grammar School, Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys, Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School, and Highworth Grammar School. This makes Bridge one of the most advantageously positioned villages in Kent for families with selective school ambitions.

August is the most significant preparation period left for Year 5 students. With the school year behind them, children have the time and mental capacity to address remaining gaps, reinforce subject knowledge and build the exam pace and composure that timed papers require before the September test arrives.

Why Families in Bridge Seek the 11 Plus Summer Booster Courses?

As the critical September exams approach, numerous families in Bridge opt for a structured 11 Plus summer booster course instead of independent study during August. Local parents have several significant reasons for choosing this targeted preparation:

Fast-Track Success

Exam practice gap

Understanding the subject is just part of the preparation; students must also have frequent practice completing complete, timed papers in the identical Kent Test style.

Expert-Led Group Sessions

Reasoning Topics

Verbal and nonverbal reasoning are rarely taught within the regular primary timetable, thus most families must plan for devoted practice outside of school.

plateau in self-study

Without a defined plan and constant tutor input, individual revision during the summer tends to lag and lose focus.

Organised August learning

A steady weekly schedule throughout August ensures that preparation is focused and constant, rather than allowing it to stray.

Although every session is delivered live online, Bridge families can give their children specialised 11 Plus help from home throughout August, without having to travel or disrupt family summer activities.

Building Speed and Stamina: A 11 Plus Summer Booster Success Story

After building a solid foundation during the academic year, a Bridge Year 5 student enrolled in the summer booster course but found it difficult to sustain performance under pressure to finish full papers on time. Over the course of the four-week programme, students' speed, response quality, and poise in math, English, verbal reasoning, and nonverbal reasoning all significantly improved thanks to regular timed practice and thorough feedback from tutors. By the end of the semester, the student approached papers with a far more confident and well-organised approach than they had shown at the start.

Why the 11 Plus Summer Booster Matters for Bridge Families

The final significant preparation period before the September Kent Test is August for Bridge families.

There is a separate answer sheet for the multiple-choice Kent Test. Three standardised scores are given to each child: one for reasoning, one for Maths, and one for English. These results are then added together to form a single overall aggregate score. The accuracy, speed, and endurance required for these papers are developed through consistent timed practice in all three categories during August.

The published admission number for Year 7 at Barton Court Grammar School is 150. To be considered, both boys and girls must name the school on their Common Application Form and obtain a selective spot through the Kent PESE. The school is frequently oversubscribed, so even for those who fit the oversubscription requirements, there is no promise of a spot.

Boys who pass the Kent PESE and meet the requirements for selective education are admitted to Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys. For Year 7, the school’s published admission number is 150.

Its sister school, Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School, is located on Old Dover Road in Canterbury. Both are routinely oversubscribed, and a child has a real chance of being accepted if they achieve a high total score across all assessed areas.

A grammar assessment does not guarantee a spot, but it does allow a child to be considered for any Kent grammar school listed on the Secondary Common Application Form. The deadline for submitting the paperwork to Kent County Council is October 31, 2026.

Children from Bridge,  Herne Bay, Sturry and Whitstable, and the neighbouring CT4 and CT1 areas gain a significant edge from a focused summer booster course: improved technique, better pacing, and the poise to perform at their best come September.
