What Pupils Need
Looking for Easter 11 Plus Support for Grammar School Entry?
Easter comes at a useful stage in the 11 Plus journey. The September test may still be several months away, but there is enough time to identify weak areas and improve them before the final stages of preparation. For Windsor families considering the Slough Consortium exam, the Easter holiday is a good time to review progress across Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Our Online 11 Plus Easter Revision Course gives pupils a clear structure for making effective use of the Easter holidays. Live lessons, timed practice and focused feedback help children understand their mistakes, strengthen weaker areas and become more comfortable with 11 Plus-style questions.
Who Is Eligible for the Windsor 11 Plus Easter Revision Course?
This course is for families in Windsor, Eton, Datchet, Maidenhead and neighbouring SL4, SL3, and SL5 postcode sectors.
It is suitable for pupils preparing for the Slough Consortium entrance exam for schools such as Herschel Grammar School, Langley Grammar School, St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School and Upton Court Grammar School.
Note
School names are provided for general geographical and admissions information. 11 Plus Tutoring is not affiliated with or endorsed by the schools, Berkshire Council, The Berkshire Grammar Schools or GL Assessment.
Why Windsor Families Select Our 11 Plus Easter Course
Defined Review Period
School holidays provide uninterrupted time to dedicate to preparation. A structured programme helps families use part of the Easter break purposefully, rather than leaving revision entirely open-ended.
Finding Hidden Learning Gaps
Working in small groups enables tutors to spot specific pupil errors, such as misinterpreting non-verbal rotation rules or mismanaging time during multi-step arithmetic, before they become habits.
Engaging Lessons in Small Groups
Classes are limited to 4–6 students. This structure combines the benefits of peer engagement with direct individual guidance from experienced 11 Plus tutors.
Targeted Speed and Accuracy Training
Selective entrance exams demand rapid visual and numerical processing. Our structured mock exams teach pupils how to manage time without compromising answer precision.
Consolidating Progress Ahead of Summer
Completing 16 hours of targeted, live revision over Easter provides a firm academic platform, allowing pupils to enter the summer term prepared for advanced mock exams.
Building a Steady Revision Routine
Rather than relying on unstructured home revision, our course creates an organised daily schedule that maintains study momentum without causing pupil fatigue.
Pupils can move from the Easter course into regular 11 Plus tuition, allowing them to continue developing their skills throughout the summer before the exam.

Understanding Selective School Options Around Windsor
Windsor families are competing for a fixed number of places alongside applicants from across Slough, Eton and the wider catchment, so it’s worth understanding exactly how the qualification works.
The Slough Consortium 11 Plus Round-1
The Slough Consortium 11 Plus is a two-paper exam covering Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, English and Maths. From the September 2027 test, the provider changed to Quest Assessments, as confirmed on Quest Assessments’ official guidance page for the Slough Consortium.
The Slough Consortium 11 Plus Round-2
Meeting the Slough Consortium’s qualifying threshold lets a child apply for Grammar School places, but it does not guarantee admission to a chosen school. Places are allocated according to each school’s individual admissions and oversubscription arrangements.
Herschel Grammar School Places
Herschel Grammar School has 150 Year 7 places planned for September 2027, with a current standardised qualifying score of 111. The school is co-educational and also has a sixth form.
Upton Court Grammar School
Upton Court Grammar School has 165 Year 7 places, with the same current qualifying score of 111. It is also co-educational and offers sixth-form education.
About 11 Plus Tutoring
Selective school entrance preparation requires more than working through practice papers. True exam readiness comes from understanding the core principles behind each question format. At 11 Plus Tutoring, we build key skills in Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Our tutors explain difficult topics in clear, simple steps and help pupils learn from their mistakes. Tutors are background-checked and hold enhanced DBS checks, helping provide a safe learning environment. Small-group lessons and regular parent feedback also help families understand their child’s progress. Parents can also view independent reviews on our Trustpilot profile.

Preparing Windsor Pupils for the 11 Plus Over Easter
The examples below are drawn from genuine experiences of families who have taken part in 11 Plus Tutoring courses, with personal details changed to protect their privacy.

"Strong Subject Knowledge, But Timing Needed Work "
For one Windsor family, the issue wasn't knowledge gaps at all. Their child answered questions correctly without a time limit but struggled once a clock was involved. The Easter course's regular timed exercises gave the pupil repeated, low-pressure practice working against the clock, which the family found more useful than doing more untimed practice papers.

"Weighing Up the Local Upper School Against a Consortium Place "
Deciding whether to pursue a Slough Consortium place at all wasn't a straightforward choice for another Windsor family, given how well-regarded the borough's own Upper schools are. Rather than treating the Easter course as a commitment to one path, the parents used it as a low-pressure way to see how their daughter responded to consortium-style questions before finalising their decision over the summer term.
11 Plus Easter Revision - FAQs Explained
Getting into Langley Grammar School from Windsor can be competitive because the school has 180 Year 7 places, while 1,116 preferences were recorded for the 2025 allocation round. Your child must first meet the required 11 Plus standard, and the school then applies its published admission criteria.
Both schools set a Published Admission Number (PAN) for Year 7 entry:
Herschel Grammar School: 150 places
Upton Court Grammar School: 165 places
Easter is a useful time to build speed through short, timed practice sessions rather than rushing through large numbers of questions. Reviewing where time was lost can help pupils become more efficient while maintaining accuracy.
